REANIMAL Beginner Guide
Everything a new player needs to know, from official facts only.
In REANIMAL you play as a brother and sister exploring a hellish island by boat and on foot, using stealth and teamwork to survive and rescue your missing friends. The whole game is playable solo or with one partner, locally or online.
The core loop
- Explore — move through the island by boat and on land, following the main path and branching secrets.
- Solve and survive — work out environmental puzzles, hide from monsters, and use the shared camera to stay together.
- Progress the story — each chapter pushes the brother and sister toward their missing friends and the island's dark secret.
- Collect on the way — masks, posters, statues, critters and coffins hide in every chapter. Many are missable.
Co-op basics
REANIMAL supports one or two players. You can play split-screen couch co-op or online co-op. Both players share a directed camera, so stay close — puzzles often need both of you. See the co-op guide for the friend pass and crossplay details.
Beginner tips
- Start on your own terms — the game is fully playable solo; co-op changes the pacing but is never required.
- Don't rush the collectibles — check the coffins and hidden statues guides first: both are missable.
- When you are stuck, the puzzle hub covers the cannon, cinema, train and bathtub room — the most-searched stuck spots.
- The shared camera means both players see the same frame — communicate what you see before acting.
